The Austin ISD Story
Austin ISD had a need for multiple classrooms because of full-scale renovations taking place at an elementary campus, making it uninhabitable for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years. Upon winning the bid for the project, Satellite Shelters worked in concert with the district’s project management representative, the general contractor, and campus administration to establish scope, timeline, and sequencing. As the project was the first one to kick off the recently passed bond initiative, speed of completion was a high priority.
The Solution
In 27 days, Satellite Shelters installed 11 double-classroom buildings and a temporary gymnasium, completing the project ahead of schedule. Satellite also worked with the general contractor to make accommodations for ADA ramps and decks, as well as utility installation locations.
