The Point University Story

In need of a dormitory building to house student athletes, Point University purchased a used modular building from Satellite Shelters. The original 186′ x 130′ 24-plex building was completely renovated to fit their needs. Just five weeks after the project was awarded, the building was prepped and ready to ship. Taking the lead on the redesign, Webb Construction added over 1300 linear feet of interior walls, 40 solid core interior doors, and redesigned the entire sprinkler system. The building was also re-certified to meet Alabama state codes.

The Solution

The renovated building is comprised of 36 two-person dormitory rooms, several counselor rooms, business offices, and 8 bathroom and shower modules. By utilizing a used modular building instead of building a new custom dormitory building, Point University saved nearly half a million dollars. Today, this modular building is located less than 200 feet from the main campus and houses 72 student athletes.
